The Golden Girls, Hulu

Bringing a little Miami to Hulu green.

For this project, I was asked to turn iconic quotes from each of the Golden Girls into a series of social cards.

There wasn't much visual direction from the client, which gave us room to try something different. With guidance from creative director Jesse Cantu Jr., we landed on a retro Miami direction inspired by the show's setting and personality.

Final version with motion.

I started by looking at what makes that aesthetic immediately recognizable: neon colors, geometric shapes, tropical foliage, and plenty of warmth.

From there, I built a visual system around those elements while keeping Hulu green in the mix so the series still felt connected to the platform.

Alternative layout option, static explore.

The final direction felt much more specific to The Golden Girls than Hulu's typical social branding, while still staying within the larger brand system.

The client responded well to the approach, and it helped open the door for us to explore more show-specific visual styles on future Hulu projects.
