Golden Girls, Hulu

Introducing a more organic design approach to Hulu social.

For this project, I was tasked with turning some of the most iconic quotes from each of the Golden Girls into a series of visual quote cards.

There was minimal direction from stakeholders, which gave us room to explore. With guidance from creative director Jesse Cantu Jr., we leaned into a "retro Miami" direction—pulling from the show's setting and overall tone.

With that direction in mind, I started by researching what visually defines a "Miami retro" aesthetic.

I built out a system using pop-neon colors, simple geometric shapes, and layered foliage to reflect the warmth and playfulness of the show. At the same time, I kept the iconic Hulu green as an anchor to ensure the designs still felt cohesive across the platform.

This project became an opportunity to introduce a more organic approach to Hulu's social presence. We pushed beyond the platform's typical branding and presented a direction that felt more tailored to the show itself—while still staying within brand guidelines.

The response was positive. The client was excited about the direction and gave us more flexibility in the future projects to explore design systems that step outside of Hulu's standard look and feel.
